It’s 80○ degrees in Phoenix already.
You can practically taste Spring…
Super warm tones and lots of glitter both seemed extremely appropriate to me.
I’ve also recently chopped off my hair so, the heavy and intense sparkles and deathly sharp liner could just be a side effect of the extra ‘pep in my step’ that can sometimes inevitably come with a change in appearance.
Who’s to say really…

I live by the following philosophy;
If you can’t see the highlight from outer space, then what’s point?
With that being said, I thought I’d share with you my go-to highlighting routine as of the last few weeks.

This look has become my go-to this month.
I’m always down with something calm and neutral.
Something that you can wear a n y w h e r e.
The office, a date, to run errands, school, an interview etc.
I can’t really think of any scenario in which the makeup wouldn’t work.
It’s super simple.
Yet still enough winged liner and highlight to let everyone know exactly what you’re capable of, haha. It’s just spot-on for whatever, really. And that’s one of my favorite mental portfolios of looks; “The Universal” one.
As always – adjust and tweak as you like, and to your needs.

Phoenix (or climate change; whichever your cup of tea..) yanked the Winter season from us a wee bit early this year and it’s just insane to say the least, lol.
Last week it was still pretty chilly and dropping into the low fifties at night but; here we are, the second week of February and it will be in the mid-to-high seventies for the rest of the week….and then will probably just ascend from there straight into Summer. WHAT?!
It’s left me confused, and the end result of that confusion is this dark chocolate Wintery smokey eye, with bright hot pink lips for Spring… Continue reading “Winter + Spring? Sure, Why Not.”
This palette is a great one.
— Random story! —
I actually just gave my JH Favorites palette away to my little sister.
Hers was stolen while she was on vacation in Mexico!
I felt so bad for her.
When you’re 16, a limited edition and highly coveted makeup palette isn’t always super easy to obtain so, I just gave her mine since I have plenty of other shadows to use.

Some days I don’t feel like doing wings.
It took me quite a while to build the courage to start experimenting with “no liner” looks, but when I did I never looked back. I have no idea what I used to be so scared of.
No liner looks RULE. Especially when you feel like being lazy, but still want to do a face.
That’s where looks like this one come in.
[[ How do you guys feel about not wearing liner? ]]

The white liner in the waterline is Nyx Cosmetics Jumbo Eye Pencil in ‘MILK’.
My lashes are the Ardell Double-Ups (using the House of Lashes lash glue to apply).
Happiest of Wednesdays to everyone!
It is officially 2016.
Such an insane, yet incredibly rad concept!
2016 will mean 10 years out of High School for me.
It means more travel, for which I cannot wait!
It means stepping out, doing more.
I want 2016 to be the year I start freelancing in the spare time that I don’t really have.
Last year was such a blast, I couldn’t be more psyched to find out what this next one will hold!

When doing a smokey eye like this, please don’t forget to keep the following things in mind:
• This can (and probably will) get messy. Keep your chill together, and just make sure to keep some makeup wipes handy to clean up any fallout.
• With looks like this, do your eyes first so that shadow fallout doesn’t ruin your foundation.
• The key to not looking like you’ve been punched in the face is to keep the dark shadow below your crease.
• Blending is key with black (or dark) shadows. Blend until you can literally blend no more.
• Every single smokey eye has a really ugly phase. This will look like a complete disaster at some point during your process. Do-not-give-up. Just keep powering through to the end and 95% of the time, it will just all come together.
This was a struggle for me.
I struggled through this.
I actually spent half the day thinking it was total sh*t.
But I take it back.
I ended up becoming really fond of it.
Happy with it.
It’s only because this is out of my comfort zone.
Black scares the living daylights out of me.
Moral of the story;
Practice really does make perfect.
I woke up the other day craving chocolate in the absolute worst way, but since I can’t really shove my face full of Ghirardelli at 6 in the morning, I decided I’d settle for “chocolate inspired” Winter makeup instead. Plus I had a brand new, unopened lipstick that I wanted to wear, which I knew would go along perfectly with the whole “chocolate” concept.
The logic made sense in the moment because, chocolate.
